Hoarding Definitions
| Hoardings can be wall mounted, freestanding on a plinth or erected on a tower to view from a flyover. All dimensions stated in the various definitions vary slightly between contractors as they all have different structure/frame sizes in which the hoarding is built. |

Banner/Wrap The hanging of giant posters usually on a temporary basis, on building / scaffolding - usually whilst they are being built or refurbished. Area: variable |
| 6 Sheet Usually seen on bus shelters, street furniture and the London Underground. May be illuminated internally.

48 Sheet Static This is the most common type of hoarding seen in the UK and comprises a timber/plywood hoarding on which posters are pasted. They may be floodlit. Area: Circa 19.2 m² |
