Duncan is a chartered surveyor and a qualified registered valuer, expert witness and independent expert. He was a director of HBSV Chartered Surveyors (formerly Henry Butcher) specialising in the property investment market before setting up Advertising Site Management Ltd with John Hayward in 1999.
He has some 30 years' post qualification experience and is a consultant to Thomas Clive & Co. providing valuations, asset rationalisation and investment advice, particularly to the landlord sector.
John is a chartered surveyor, qualifying in 1980 and being elected a Fellow in 1992. He was a partner and head of investment at Henry Butcher, prior to which he was a director and head of investment and valuation at Wright & Partners. He was chairman of HBSV Chartered Surveyors during which time he co-founded Advertising Site Management with Duncan. He is currently a consultant in private practice advising a range of organisations on all aspects of property.
John is the author of texts on valuation in Valuation: Principles into Practice, a standard surveyors’ text now in its sixth edition, and Isurv, the RICS’s online valuation publication.

History has shown that while many landowners and occupiers may have an 'idea' of the value of the advertising sites on their properties they may not be aware of the current rentals paid for advertising displays. Other landowners and occupiers may be unaware of the potential of their properties for developing outdoor advertising sites.
